What is CUCET?
Why CUCET?
A unified admission exam will not only eliminate the necessity for several entrance tests but will also minimize reliance on Class XII board exam results. CUCET will feature two papers, according to the suggested structure:
Paper A: Aptitude-Based Test
Paper B: Subject-Focused Test
CUCET Participating Universities
CUCET will be the mandatory admission test for universities established under an Act of Parliament and are under the control and purview of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. As of now, there are 54 central universities in India. The 54 Central Universities including Delhi University, Jamia Milia Islamia, Jawahar Lal University, BHU together offer close to 1.68 Lac seats under various disciplines at the undergraduate level.
CUCET 2022 Overview
CUCET 2022 will most likely be a General Ability Test, with an emphasis on English Language, Numerical Ability, Logical & Analytical Reasoning, General Awareness, and Current Affairs.
It will be an online Computer-Based Test (CBT) with a 12th grade level of assessment, comprising general themes.
Note: CUCET 2022 may or may not have a section on subject knowledge. The official notification on this, as well as the weightage of 12th Board marks, is still awaited.
CUCET 2022 Syllabus
The CUCET 2022 exam pattern gives an effective overview of how to prepare for the exam. It would most probably comprise of two papers.

- English Language: The questions in this section will test one’s proficiency in the language, based on comprehension passages, grammar fundamentals, and vocabulary. In the comprehension section, candidates will be evaluated on their understanding of a passage and its central theme, meanings of words used therein, etc. The Grammar section entails correcting grammatically incorrect sentences, fill in the blanks, synonyms & antonyms-based vocabulary, etc.
- Numerical Ability: This section will test the candidate’s knowledge of elementary mathematics. Areas like arithmetic, number system, basics of algebra, and modern maths will be the key.
- Logical & Analytical Reasoning: This section tests the candidate’s ability to identify patterns & logical links, and rectify illogical arguments. It can include a variety of LR questions, such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc., along with Analytical Reasoning questions on series, directions, clocks & calendars, arrangements, and puzzles to name a few.
- General Awareness and Current Affairs: This section will include questions on static GK, along with questions on national & international current affairs.
CUCET Exam Dates 2022
The official notification will be released soon. It is expected that the NTA will start the online registration process from March 2022.
